On The Ball is a fortnightly newsletter brought to you by our team at Remedy. We curate funding opportunities, competitions and networking events in sport for good so that you don’t have to.

This week we have 14 opportunities for you to consider. Don’t forget, only paid members get full access to the list.

So, let’s get into it:

The International Olympic Committee (IOC) has launched a new USD $50,000 grant for organisations working on sport and displacement initiatives. Organisations are to apply for one of the two focal areas: Bridging Communities, which highlights the role of cities in driving inclusion through sport, and Sport Against Hate, which tackles discrimination, misinformation, and hate speech through sport. This funding aims to support projects that leverage sports to assist displaced populations. The programme will be implemented between August 2025 and 2026, so the deadline to apply will be the 30th of May 2025.

The Women's Sports Foundation empowers women and girls to live prosperous and healthy lives by leveraging the transformative impact of sport. Its Sports 4 Life programme is currently accepting applications from organisations and projects that serve predominantly Black, African-American, Hispanic, and/or Native American young women aged 11-18. Funding can be used for a broad remit, including (but not exclusive to) coaching, equipment, transport, facility hire, and team-building activities. As long as the project tackles the disproportionate exclusion rates of these young women by increasing access to the life-long mental and physical benefits of sport, US-based non-profit organisations can apply. There is a total funding pot of USD $400,000, and letters of intent must be submitted by 02/05/25.

From Beyond Sport, the Futures in Motion Fund is now accepting applications from non-profit community organisations in Australia that are addressing physical inactivity and strengthening Positive Youth Development (PYD) for children and young people through sport. This programme is starting in Australia, Japan (invite only), and Poland, with plans to expand into additional regions over the next three years. Two organisations will be selected in each country, and you can apply for $40,000 - $50,000 USD annually for up to 3 years with a maximum grant request of $150,000 over 3 years. The application window is open until 2 May 2025.

The NFL Players Association's (NFLPA) Charitable Partnership Programme is open for its annual funding window. Not-for-profit organisations with an annual budget of at least USD $50,000 that have been established for at least five years are eligible to apply. Also, their work must support one of the following thematic areas: children and young people, mental health, military, men's health, women's health, and social justice. Each successful charity partner will receive a USD $25,000 grant to support any programme or project they deliver in line with the NFLPA's thematic priorities and values. Previous successful partners have included GOODProjects, Laureus Sport for Good, Men's Health Network, and Silence the Shame, to name but a few. The grant application deadline is 18/04/25.
