So, let’s get into it:
As part of the legacy of the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games, the Inclusive Communities Fund has just launched and will provide grants of up to £300k each to be spent in 2024. The majority of funding will be awarded via revenue grants for locally led projects that bring people together and promote health and wellbeing, but there will also be some smaller capital grants available. Projects taking place across local authorities within the West Midlands are eligible, and consortium based approaches are encouraged for larger awards. Proposals must be submitted before January 4th, and grants must be spent and work completed by December 2024.
Sport England is seeking a supplier to work in partnership with the Sport England, Department for Culture Media and Sport and the Youth Sport Trust to lead a comprehensive evaluation and review of the School Games Organiser Network. The contract value is £150,000, with suppliers required to undertake an independent evaluation of the impact and the value for money the School Games Organiser Network provides, and develop and appraise options for different delivery models for its future. Tenders must be submitted before the 24th November, with work expected to start in February 2024 and last for twelve months.
Organised by the Centre for Sport and Human Rights, in partnership with the United Nations, The Sporting Chance Forum is back in-person this December. On 5 and 6 December, SCF23 will bring all actors in the sport ecosystem together at the Palais des Nations in Geneva to discuss the future of sport and human rights. Many of the worlds largest sport institutions will be present and speaking, including the International Olympic Committee, many international federations, and prominent brands/sponsors. Registration for the event is free, but space is limited. Accreditation is essential. All participants must register via INDICO, the official UN accreditation system.
