On The Ball is a fortnightly newsletter brought to you by our team at Remedy. We curate funding opportunities, competitions and networking events in sport for good so that you don’t have to.

This week we have 12 opportunities for you to consider. Don’t forget, only paid members get full access to the list.

So, let’s get into it:

The NFL Foundation Grassroots Program provides non-profit, neighbourhood-based organisations with financial and technical assistance to improve the quality, safety, and accessibility of local football fields. To be eligible, organisations must be at least three years old and a community-based organisation, a middle school or high school serving a neighbourhood consisting of low- and moderate-income families and individuals. Organisations should also be located within the NFL Target Markets outlined in the RFP. The NFL Foundation Grassroots Programme provides grants of up to $250,000 for capital improvement projects, and the proposal submission deadline is 30th June 2025.

The Laureus Sport for Good Foundation USA (Laureus USA) is looking for a partner to deliver a scoping and research project in the borough of Queens, New York City, to assist with the potential launch of a new grant cohort programme in 2026. Key elements of the project will include utilising data from a variety of sources, target neighbourhoods: Elmhurst & Corona (CD 4), Jackson Heights (CD3), Jamaica & Hollis (CD 12). Summarising common themes from local needs concerning youth sports access and quality, and providing recommendations for neighbourhood parameters and potential organisational partners. Payment will range between $5,000 - $6,500 and applications to tender should be emailed to peter.feldman@laureus.com by EOD Friday, 13th June.

The Steve Morgan Foundation's Regional Grants programme is currently open to applications from not-for-profit organisations based in North Wales, Merseyside, Cheshire and North Shropshire. Designed to support projects that improve life chances and increase opportunities, the fund offers flexible, revenue-focused grants aligned to the needs of local communities. Grants are typically awarded for up to three years, with no minimum or maximum value specified; funding levels are instead guided by the scale and impact of the proposed work, ranging between £25,000 and £500,000 over three years. Eligible applicants must be either registered charities, CICs, or other formally constituted not-for-profit organisations. Applications can be submitted on a rolling basis, and there are no deadlines. However, early engagement with the Foundation is encouraged before submission.

Sport Wales' Energy Saving Grant programme supports sports clubs in Wales to improve their energy consumption and increase the efficiency of their buildings. Not-for-profit sports clubs or community groups with at least 7 years remaining on their lease can apply for capital funding of up to £25,000 to cover improvements such as: solar panels, storage batteries, insulation, new windows and doors, lighting, better heating and hot water systems, and sustainable water systems. Projects must be brand new, capable of completion within 12 months of receiving the grant, and organisations must be able to contribute at least 20% of the project costs (including an energy survey). Interested applicants should complete the EOI as soon as possible, with Stage 1 of the application form due by 25th June 2025.
