Opportunities from London Marathon, the Denver Broncos, Common Goal and ten others.
Curated funding opportunities and networking events in sport for good.
On The Ball is a fortnightly newsletter brought to you by our team at Remedy. We curate funding opportunities, competitions and networking events in sport for good so that you don’t have to.
This week we have 13 opportunities for you to consider. Don’t forget, only paid members get full access to the list.
So, let’s get into it:
The London Marathon Foundation's Active Spaces Fund is currently open to applications from organisations in London aiming to improve and activate spaces that encourage physical activity among underserved communities. Grants typically range from £10,000 to £80,000, with exceptional capital projects potentially eligible for higher amounts. Eligible applicants include community and voluntary sector organisations, community enterprises, registered charities, schools, statutory bodies, sports clubs, and faith centres, provided the project benefits the wider community beyond their immediate members. Priority is given to projects that support children, young people, and marginalised groups such as those from lower socio-economic backgrounds, ethnically diverse communities, people with disabilities, and the LGBTQ+ community. The application process involves an initial Expression of Interest, followed by a full application if invited. Applications are reviewed quarterly, with upcoming deadlines on the 8th of July and 25th of September 2025.
The Denver Broncos Community Grant Programme provides funding for youth-serving initiatives across the state of Colorado. The programme focuses on four key areas: youth health and wellness (meeting children's basic physiological needs), youth and high school football (improving programmes with an emphasis on character and safety), dynamic in and out of school programming (developing academic and social competencies), and access to career pathways (building educational opportunities for self-sufficiency). Eligible organisations must have 501c3 status or government equivalent, operate with a programming expense ratio of at least 80%, and provide services to youth ages 5-24 in Colorado. Each organisation may submit only one application per calendar year. The programme does not fund fundraising support, operating costs, religious organisations, individuals, endowments, political campaigns, or group trips. The application remains open year-round with applications reviewed and approved quarterly after each funding cycle's submission deadline.
The Berlin City Climate Contribution Fund 2025 has been launched to transform unavoidable emissions from Berlin's UEFA EURO 2024 Fan Zone into positive climate action. With up to €100,000 available per project, the Fund supports sport-based initiatives that reduce CO₂ emissions, promote sustainable practices, engage local communities using the power of sport, and deliver long-term impact. Eligible applicants include non-profits, sports clubs, universities, sports associations, public law institutions, and organisations managing sports infrastructures that have been legally registered for at least one year. While 60% of funding is reserved for Berlin-based projects, up to 40% is available for initiatives outside Berlin with a strong connection to the city, including those in Berlin's official partner cities. Eligible projects include energy efficiency upgrades, sustainable mobility solutions, natural climate solutions, and awareness initiatives. The application deadline is 2nd June 2025 at 13:00 CET, with applications accepted in English or German through the Good Grants platform.
The Anxiety & Depression Initiative (ADI) invites applications for its Get Out and Get Active Grant programme, which supports innovative projects across the USA exploring or promoting the mental health benefits of physical activity. The initiative seeks proposals that facilitate, advocate for, or research the benefits of physical activity to improve mental health outcomes, including reducing stress, anxiety, and depression. Grants of up to $10,000 will be awarded for education, direct service, and research projects. Priority will be given to initiatives that identify effective strategies for integrating physical activity as a mental health intervention across diverse populations and settings. Eligible applicants include U.S.-based nonprofit organisations, academic institutions, and government agencies. The application deadline is 30th May 2025 and is exclusively for registered nonprofits in the USA.
