On The Ball is a fortnightly newsletter brought to you by our team at Remedy. We curate funding opportunities, competitions and networking events in sport for good so that you don’t have to.

Before we get started:

  • Complete the annual survey on fundraising in sport for good here (it takes less than 10 minutes!). Anonymised results will be shared with the sector in early 2025.

  • Grab a ticket for the inaugural Sport Fundraising Summit, taking place in London on the 26th February 2025. Featuring the adidas Foundation, Comic Relief, the International Olympic Committee and more!

This week we have 12 opportunities for you to consider:

Don’t forget, only paid members get full access to the list.

So, let’s get into it:

Erasmus+ is calling for applications to their European Youth Together 2025 fund. Non-profit organizations and social businesses can apply for up to €500,000, covering 80% of the project budget. Organizations should deliver work focusing on capacity building, education, children and youth, and social exclusion. Any organization established in an EU member state or a third country associated with the program is eligible to apply. The deadline to apply is March 6th.

In Southern California, organizations providing structured sports activities for youth under 18, with a strong commitment to youth safety, can apply for funding from the LA84 Foundation. Eligible expenditures include program costs (including staffing), sports equipment purchases, or sports facility renovations. Special consideration will be given to organizations conducting work that can create broad impact, including district-wide or multi-school efforts. Applicants should submit a letter of interest for grants averaging up to $10,000. The deadline to apply is December 20th.

Go! London is accepting applications from London-based not-for-profits and social enterprises supporting young people (aged 4-24) for its Match, Trade, Grow fund. Priority goes to organizations investing in youth sports and physical activity for underserved communities to grow their impact and scale. Two schemes are available: the Trade Up Level offering up to £15,000, and the Scale Up Level offering up to £25,000. The deadline is January 14th, for programs starting in March 2025.

Laureus Sport for Good, the International Olympic Committee and Agence Française de Développement have partnered to deliver Sport for Education and Sustainable Livelihoods in Africa (SESLA). The initiative promotes education and employability pathways for young people in Africa. Research and training institutions can apply to support the development of training plans to strengthen sport, education, or livelihood organizations within the Sport for Development sector. The deadline for proposals is December 24th.
