Opportunities from John Ellerman Foundation, UEFA, Avery Dennison and nine others.
Curated funding opportunities and networking events in sport for good.
On The Ball is a fortnightly newsletter brought to you by our team at Remedy. We curate funding opportunities, competitions and networking events in sport for good so that you don’t have to.
This week we have 12 opportunities for you to consider. Don’t forget, only paid members get full access to the list.
So, let’s get into it:
The John Ellerman Foundation has recently published its new strategy for 2025 and 2030 and is seeking to support organisations that advance wellbeing for people, society and the natural world. Unlike previous funding rounds, there will be no funding categories; all successful applicants will pursue justice and rights for the aforementioned three areas at their core. Multi-year core costs grants are available to UK registered charities with an annual income of between £100,000 and £10,000,000, with published accounts that evidence this. Eligible organisations will be making an impact on a national level and there must be clear evidence of strong governance, financial management, a track record of impact, and a collaborative/cross-sectoral approach to project design and delivery. Importantly, John Ellerman Foundation is looking to partner with organisations with which it can develop long-term relationships, underpinned by a shared vision of long-term systems change in the wellbeing of people, society, and the environment. Organisations can apply for funding between £30,000 and £180,000 over up to five years, and there are no deadlines.
The UEFA Foundation for Children has this week announced that its 2025 Call for Projects is open. Non-governmental organisations and charitable groups worldwide can apply for funding to deliver innovative projects using sport and education to improve the lives of vulnerable and marginalised children. Priority areas include: health, education, access to sport, personal development, social integration, and children’s rights. Eligible organisations may deliver projects independently or in collaboration with other entities. The total value of funding available has not been announced, but we encourage interested organisations to check the UEFA Foundation for Children’s websites for updates on this. The deadline for all applications is 1st August 2025.
The J.W. Couch Foundation welcomes applications from US non-governmental organisations that facilitate and encourage individuals to get outside, thereby creating healthier, happier communities. Organisations must be able to show the clear local impact of their work, highlighting how they support mental, physical, and social health and wellbeing in communities where there is proof of real need for intervention. A range of grants are available, including project-specific and unrestricted funding. Although funding is discretionary, applicants are advised that there is approximately $471,000 remaining to commit to the wellness strand of the Foundation’s 2025 grantmaking windows. Applications must be submitted online, with clear budget breakdowns, by 26th September 2025.
