On The Ball is a fortnightly newsletter brought to you by our team at Remedy. We curate funding opportunities, competitions and networking events in sport for good so that you don’t have to.

This week we have 12 opportunities for you to consider. Don’t forget, only paid members get full access to the list.

So, let’s get into it:

Citi Foundation has recently announced the launch of its 2025 Global Innovation Challenge. Community organisations operating in listed countries worldwide and working with youth aged 15-24 are invited to apply for funding to support projects accelerating youth employability. Focus areas for projects include training, upskilling, entrepreneurship, and financial education; however, any community organisation that offers innovative employment solutions for disadvantaged and/or marginalised young people is encouraged to apply. Up to 50 organisations across the globe will receive funding totalling $500,000 worth of grants. Notable deadlines are March 4th, 2025 for registration and March 18th for application submission.

Also in the USA, The Cigna Group Foundation encourages applications from nonprofit organisations that work to improve the mental wellbeing of young people. The Foundation has pledged $9 million over a three-year duration to enhance mental health for individuals between the ages of five and eighteen. A range of programmes may be eligible, including those that increase access to mental health intervention and provide opportunities for social and emotional skills to flourish. This grant programme funds charitable organisations that support communities in: Arizona, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Missouri, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, and Texas. Grants will range from $100,000 to $150,000 and the application deadline is March 13th, 2025.

The Skatepark Project's Community Activation Grant welcomes applications from nonprofit organisations and community groups across the USA looking to build skateparks in disadvantaged communities. Grants of up to $25,000 are available to develop skateparks that will enable young people to enjoy skating in safe and inclusive public spaces where there is a shortage of similar facilities. Successful applications will demonstrate how intended beneficiaries have been involved in the planning and design of the skatepark, and create a skatepark that is entirely free for the general public to access. The upcoming application deadline is March 31st, 2025.

The Foundation for the Carolinas invites applications for the 2025 Longleaf Fund, which supports organisations based in North Carolina and South Carolina. The Fund prioritises grants for initiatives that enhance environmental conservation, community development, and youth education, contributing to the daily increase in physical activity for members of the community, especially children. The Foundation aims to strengthen the character and achievement of at-risk children and youth in communities across the Carolinas while encouraging communities to reach higher and create opportunities for a brighter future. Through the fund, one-time capital grants of between $10,000 and $150,000 will be awarded to organisations. The application deadline is March 29th, 2025.
