Opportunities from Chick-fil-A, Toyota Foundation, ASDA and ten others.
Curated funding opportunities and networking events in sport for good.
On The Ball is a fortnightly newsletter brought to you by our team at Remedy. We curate funding opportunities, competitions and networking events in sport for good so that you don’t have to.
This week we have 13 opportunities for you to consider. Don’t forget, only paid members get full access to the list.
So, let’s get into it:
Chick-fil-A's True Inspiration Awards programme has grants available for nonprofit organisations making a positive impact in their communities across the US, Singapore, Puerto Rico, Canada, and the UK. Organisations can be nominated by a local owner-operator or can directly apply for one of five categories. Grants range from $30,000 to $350,000, and the deadline for submission is May 1st, 2025.
The Toyota Foundation's 2025 International Grant Program, "Cultivating Empathy Through Learning from Our Neighbours," invites applications for projects addressing shared issues in East Asia, Southeast Asia, and South Asia. The programme supports transnational, cross-sector collaborations that foster mutual learning and creative solutions. Projects must involve diverse teams from multiple countries, including practitioners, researchers, policymakers, and other key stakeholders. Grant amounts range from JPY 5,000,000 for one-year projects to JPY 10,000,000 for two-year projects, and applications are open from April 1 to May 31, 2025.
For the third consecutive year, UEFA Innovation Hub is running 'Champions Innovate'. This programme seeks to drive innovation and meaningful change through football, in the context of the UEFA Champions League final. The host city invites start-ups to propose innovative solutions to a specific challenge which the city sets; in recent years, challenges have related to social and environmental impact. Selected companies will team with competition sponsors and relevant stakeholders to make their ideas a reality, all to identify innovative and sustainability-focused solutions across the football ecosystem. Competition is high, with just three start-ups selected in the most recent call. Interested organisations must submit their Request for Information no later than 12 pm CET on May 2nd, 2025, with selected entries invited to submit a full proposal by June 27th, 2025.
The International Olympic Committee (IOC) is requesting expressions of interest from providers with clear and demonstrable experience in sports and entrepreneurship programmes to deliver services for its Athlete365 Business Accelerator Programme. The programme provides structured learning, mentorship, and guidance through interactive online learning platforms and industry mentorship. The successful provider will be responsible for all key parts of the programme, including programme management and delivery, entrepreneurial support/mentorship, marketing and athlete engagement, and sponsorship activation. Expertise and experience in delivering similar sports and entrepreneurial programmes are essential, and organisations must be able to deliver content in English, French, and Spanish, meeting the international nature of the programme. With a fast turnaround, the deadline for Expressions of Interest is tomorrow (April 24th, 2025) at midnight CET.
