Projects should work primarily with children under the age of 18 and support in areas such as personal development, healthier and more active lifestyles, employability, gender equality and environmental protection. The application deadline is the 28th July and grants are typically in the range of 100,000EUR - 400,000 EUR per project. Match-funding is preferable.

Taking place at the end of July, the National Sports & Physical Activity Convention is Australia’s “leading knowledge sharing and networking event for the play, recreation and sport Industry”. The two day event brings together experts in funding, leadership, technology and more from all over the world, with speakers expected from Sport Singapore, the Australian Sports Foundation, several federations and many industry suppliers. Two-day tickets cost roughly USD$1000, and the event takes place at Melbourne Convention & Exhibition Centre on the 27-28th this month.

The National Lottery Community Fund have launch a new, significant UK Fund that will award grants of up to £5m for ambitious projects lasting up to five years that do more to help communities come together and help make us a better-connected society. The focus is on projects that strengthen the relationships between people whose experiences of live have not been the same. Projects must be UK-wide and there is no closing date; applications will be assessed on an ongoing basis once the fund opens on the 4th August.

Sport England have issued a call for proposals to procure a supplier to deliver research to understand the role alternative sporting structures and networks play in tackling inequalities in sport and physical activity. Across a four month period, the supplier is expected to help identify examples of what is working well across alternative or parallel structures in supporting under-represented or marginalised groups to be physically active. The contract value is £75,000 initially and the deadline for proposals is the 4th August. Work is expected to start in October.
