So, let’s get into it:
The International Olympic Committee have teamed up with Beyond Sport and Women Win to launch the first of many Call for Innovations in Sport for Sustainable Development, this time seeking five cutting-edge initiatives using innovation to make the world a better place through sport. Selected initiatives will receive investment of up to USD $10,000 to extend their innovation, have their approach showcased to a global audience and be among the first cohort of innovators to benefit from wrap-around support through the new IOC Innovation Hub. Applicants can be based anywhere in the world. Proposals are submitted via a simple video submission, which is due this Sunday 16th June.
Throughout the USA, The Morgan Stanley Foundation invites applications for its Alliance for Children’s Mental Health Innovation Awards program, which seeks new or piloted projects from direct-service organizations that will help address the far-reaching challenge of stress, anxiety, depression, or other mental health issues in children and young adults in the United States. Projects must tackle specific issues and address unmet needs to reduce stigma, increase access to care, improve equity in mental health, or enable early identification/prevention or enhance intervention, especially among disadvantaged and vulnerable populations. Five winners will receive grants of $100,000 to test and scale their innovative work, as well as leadership training from industry experts. Proposals must be submitted before July 8th to be considered.
NewYork-Presbyterian invites applications for its 2024 Community Fund, which will provide grants ranging from $75,000 to $150,000 per year for up to two years in support of community-based organizations across New York City and Westchester County that are actively addressing one of the following: social isolation, housing insecurity, and unemployment/economic recovery. To be eligible, applicants must be a not-for-profit, religious, or government agency with a community service mission and must have a minimum annual operational budget of $500,000. Letters of inquiry are due June 23rd. Upon review, selected applicants will be invited to submit a full proposal.
In the UK, applications to the Hargreaves Foundation will be re-opening in August for organisations seeking funding to support those under the age of 18, and living with a mental health problem, physical disability or growing up in poverty through the mediums of sport and education. The Foundation awards funding - ranging from £30,000 - £100k+, to projects that enables individuals to experience the mental and physical health benefits of participatory sport, foster life skills, or improve academic engagement and employability. The online application process will re-open in August, but typically proposals can be submitted at any time
