This week we have 15 events, grants and/or funding competitions for you to consider. Don’t forget, only paid members get full access to the list.
So, let’s get into it:
Organisations working in Cameroon, Benin, Mauritania, Morocco and Togo can apply for grants of up to €20,000 to develop community sports academies that deliver education, social inclusion and capacity building through sport. The funding is provided by the French Development Agency (AFD) and implemented by Play International, with projects expected to last a maximum of seven months from September 2024. To be eligible, applicant organisations must have been running for at least two years and have access to a secure physical space to host activities. The deadline for proposals is July 12th.
The Game On-Community Places to Play Initiative is a program designed to provide funding by The DICK’S Sporting Goods Foundation and technical assistance and program management, provided by the Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC) for the creation and renovation of multi-use youth sport spaces for youth ages 6-24 years old in underserved communities across the USA. Grants of up to $100,000 will be awarded to outdoor and indoor facilities that enable and demonstrate local community access and usage for all organised youth sports in low income communities. To be eligible, applicants must be able to match the fund’s investment 1:1 and should have been running for at least three years. Proposals must be submitted by September 5th.
The #BeInclusive EU Sports Awards are back for 2024, offering cash prizes to award winners in three categories; breaking barriers in sport; promoting gender equality in sport and; using sport for peace. Besides rewarding specific organisations, the awards will also give visibility and support the dissemination of innovative ideas, initiatives and best practices throughout Europe. Winners of each award will receive a grant of €10,000 each, with finalists also receiving €2,500 each too. The deadline for submission for all three award categories is September 25th, with the winners set to be announced in March 2025. Applicant organisations must be based within the EU or an Erasmus+ participating nation.
In the UK, Islamic Relief are offering grants of up to £40,000 from a total pot of £2.5m for projects that support marginalised and vulnerable people and communities. Grants will be made across four key outcome areas; building resilience to poverty; empowering women and girls; supporting refugee and asylum-seeking populations and; youth and family development. Engaging young people in constructive activities that help to develop leadership skills and confidence is specifically referenced within this.The next deadline for applications is July 8th, with projects expected to commence in December 2024 or January 2025.
